Residents of Tashichhoeling Dungkhag in Samtse are grappling with the lack of a proper garbage truck, resulting in the piling up of garbage on streets and outside their homes. The Dungkhag’s only waste collection truck frequently breaks down, posing a significant problem for the community. Residents are concerned about the environmental hazards caused by uncollected waste.



𝗝𝗗𝗪𝗡𝗥𝗛 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹



The dental department at the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital started giving its services from its new location in Taba starting this week. The structure, which previously housed the National COVID-19 Hospital, started providing general dental services as of now. However, the department will be completely set up by the end of next week. It is being moved to decongest the national referral hospital.



A 24-year-old woman lost her life in a vehicle accident at Langeri in Dungmaed Gewog of Pema Gatshel this evening after the Bolero pickup truck she was travelling in veered off the road.



The vehicle was heading towards Dechhenling in Nganglam from Samdrup Jongkhar. The deceased’s husband who was driving the vehicle, her father and daughter escaped with minor injuries. They have been referred to Nganglam BHU. The cause of the accident is being investigated.



𝗖𝗣𝗠𝗦 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁, 𝗣𝗵𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴



The Check Post Management System (CPMS) was initially introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic as a necessary tool to monitor inter-district movement of people. While the system is still in use across the country, commuters passing through the Rinchending checkpoint and the border gate in Phuentshogling have raised concerns over lengthy processes and long queues at the check post. Despite this, officials at the checkpoint maintain that the CPMS has been effective in curbing road safety issues. In recent months, several drivers have been caught using fake documents, prompting authorities to take legal action against them.



𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗦𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀



The Department of Industry under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment recently inaugurated a second CSI market in Paro to provide a reliable market at local and international levels for local entrepreneurs. The first CSI market was established in Thimphu in 2020. Local businesses and entrepreneurs in Paro are delighted about the prospects of the new CSI market. The market features products ranging from organic edibles, and arts and crafts to jewelry and traditional dresses.



𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝗗𝗪𝗡𝗥𝗛 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘁



Lack of components has put a halt in carrying out total knee replacement surgeries at the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital in Thimphu. After the first successful surgery in December last year, the hospital received a number of patients wanting to undergo the surgery. However, the hospital says they have been unable to carry out the surgeries since they do not have the artificial knee which is imported from abroad.

For residents of Olakha and Babesa in Thimphu, the past three days have been difficult as they have been facing severe water shortages. With water sources drying up, residents have been left without a continuous flow of water for days, hampering their daily household chores.



In the ongoing Pepsi Bhutan Premier League qualifiers played at the RTC football ground in Thimphu, South Druk United defeated Samtse FC by a resounding five-nil margin.



In the first half of the match, South Druk United FC managed to score only a goal. However, the winning team came from the break-even stronger and put four goals past a hapless Samtse FC team in the second half. The win takes South Druk United to the top of the qualifiers table with seven points. In the next match on Monday, Samtse FC will be looking to make amends of today’s defeat when they take on Thimphu Raven FC.

Illegal fishing activities along Wangchhu in Jigmechhu, Chukha, have become rampant in recent years. This is rapidly affecting the fish population in the ecotourism spot, which boasts over 300 bird species, including the critically endangered White-Bellied Heron.
