Some farmers in Trashigang are unhappy with the quality of the plastic films in the greenhouse. According to the farmers, their greenhouses got damaged within a few months of installation. The Trashigang district administration provided the greenhouse material on a cost-sharing basis during the last financial year. The farmers have reported the matter to the district administration requesting intervention.

Visiting Jela Dzong, a sacred site in Paro, has become much more accessible and convenient for visitors. Thanks to a hardworking group of volunteers who constructed a road leading to the dzong. In the past, the journey to the holy site involved hours of walking over rugged terrain.

If you are constructing a house at the moment, we have some bad news for you. The Natural Resources Development Cooperation’s sand stockyard in Wangdue Phodrang, which supplies sand to the western region, is about to run out of sand in a few weeks. The NRDCL says the sand deposits in the Punatsangchhu are also low this time and could lead to a drastic decrease in sand supply from next month.

To address the issue of teacher shortage in schools under Thimphu Thromde, about 70 national contract teachers will be recruited in the coming months.

Namgay Dorji, a 28-year-old farmer, is staring at the five acres of farmland in Nobgang village in Samar, Haa where he has been working with his three friends.

A project aimed at reducing slope disasters on Bhutanese roads has been successful, thanks to a five-year collaboration between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
